Happy 250th Birthday America! The Isaac Van Wart America250! float delighted parade-goers on the fourth of July in Van Wert, OH. Isaac Van Wart joined the walk. HODARs helped prepare the float. Thirteen members road and/or walked passing out flags, bracelets and candy. Later the members went to the Van Wert Historical Society Museum and conducted a community reading of the Declaration of Independence. Patriotic music by a community band; a local pianist played relaxing tunes; a locking ceremony of the museum’s time capsule (the DAR put their information in it); and booths (the IVW-DAR had a booth, too) rounded out the afternoon and was well attended with people in patriotic garb.
